LIFE SAVING INFORMATION TAUGHT BY:   Officer Troy VanGeldren
>What is Cardiopulmonary resuscitation?

Description:

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is an emergency procedure consisting of chest compressions often combined with artificial ventilation in an effort to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest.

Stop the Bleed is a grassroots national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Stop the Bleed encourages bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.

>What is an IFAK?

IFAK is usually understood to mean “Individual First Aid Kit”, or “Improved First Aid Kit”

     *Why should you have one?

When a life-threatening emergency occurs whether from an automobile accident, an active shooter event or an industrial mishap, the most likely person to be the first on-scene is a civilian. Exsanguination can occur in just a few minutes and the ability of civilians to respond effectively to major bleeds is critical to saving lives. Even an EMT or paramedic with advanced training is likely to carry a simple IFAK on their person or in their vehicle, as major medical bags are too large to keep close at hand.

*IFAK Contents

We will discuss IFAK Contents, what is truly needed to have with you. We will also have some assembled IFAK’s for sale.

When:  6:30-9:00 PM

**Taught by a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor.

**Taught by power point instruction, video and hands on interaction.

**No official Certifying process avaliable.
