A concealed pistol licensing class prepares firearms owners with the basic knowledge and ability to handle a handgun, but we encourage permit holders to take additional education to protect themselves and their families.
The fundamentals taught in Defensive Pistol class go beyond shooting in a firing range after the initial licensing instruction. The course provides an extra level of familiarity with the handgun and how to take it from a concealed position in self-defense.
We will start with how to remove the firearm from a variety of holsters and progress to comfortably drawing from under a shirt or jacket then progress to speed reloads, scanning surroundings for additional threats, use of cover, incorporating movement and immediate action drills.
Although those moves may seem easy, experienced gun owners know the actions become complex in a stressful scenario in which you are keeping loved ones safe.
Who may attend the Defensive Pistol Class?
*Anyone holding a valid Concealed Pistol License, or anyone who does not have a CPL but are well versed in the use of their pistol. This class is not for beginners, we teach and conduct advanced drills requiring a clear focus on safety and proficiency.
* Pre-Class Qualifier: Because this class is not basic in nature a qualifier will be conducted as our first exercise on the range, this can be practiced at your convenience BEFORE you attend class so you will be confident to achieve it.
-What is the Qualifier? From 7yds the shooter must fire and hit a 8.5″ X 11″ target 10 times within 10 seconds all from a low ready starting position.
-Why a Qualifier? To prove ability and your desire to advance.

Time: 2:00-8:00 PM
Needed Items: Your pistol
Holster for your desired method of carry
2 magazines
Magazine pouch or similar. (however you will carry a second magazine with fast access)
150 rounds of factory ammunition
Eye and ear protection
Provided: Coffee, water and light snacks. (Students may bring any desired food or drink.)
